A sponsor is many things to us.  Trusted friend, Spiritual mentor, Life coach, and best friend.  The life we lead before getting sober is one of loneliness and despair.  We were headed for death, but not physical, the death was spiritual in nature.  We find our sponsor in sobriety and get to work.  They walk us through the 12 steps and share their experience, strength and hope with us.
